Palm Sunday 2026
Details
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week as we remember our Lord’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem and his willing journey toward the Cross. Our service follows the 2019 Book of Common Prayer and begins with the Liturgy of the Palms, recalling the crowd’s cry of “Hosanna!” as Jesus entered the city in humility and peace.
The joy of the procession gives way to the solemn reading of the Passion Gospel, where we hear the full account of Christ’s suffering and death. In a single liturgy, we move from praise to betrayal, from palm branches to the Cross—entering the mystery of a King who reigns through self-giving love.
The service concludes with Holy Communion, where we receive the grace of the One who gave himself for us. Palm Sunday prepares us to walk with Christ through the days ahead, fixing our eyes on his obedience, his sacrifice, and the hope of his Resurrection.
